Re-imagining Vivian Maier

9/30/2013

"I liked photographing the children, and the forgotten people. I liked catching parts of the world that most people didn't notice."
Chicago journalist/playwright Jack Helbig imagines what the late, mysterious Vivian Maier might have told us about her photographs and short 8mm films, in this 12-minute video directed by Tom Pilazzolo. (If your device can't play the embedded video, you can watch it at YouTube.)

Maier's work is on exhibit at the Chicago History Museum through Jan. 5, 2014.
