"Sitting and looking at something and sitting and hearing something are two different things, but in the end it’s the same." –Lou Reed
In other words, it's a recording process, whether audio or visual. Along with his large body of musical work both solo and with the Velvet Underground, Reed also published several books of fine art photography, including Emotions in Action, Romaticism and Lou Reed's New York. While nowhere near as essential as songs like "Walk on the Wild Side," "Heroin" or "Sweet Jane," these books do show a different side of Reed's artistic inspiration.
